Privacy PolicyMy name is Shelley Crawford. I am the owner of Connected DNA, a business registered in Australia
(ABN 85 250 023 985). Your privacy and the privacy of your DNA matches is important to me. This policy sets out the way I use and manage your data. If you require more stringent privacy measures for your data than set out below, please contact me prior to ordering to discuss your requirements. How I use your data I combine lists of DNA matches, shared matches, DNA segment lists, and tree information that you provide (or that I download on your behalf) to create visualisations and reports that you have ordered. I use de-identified, anonymous visualisations and summary data (for example total number of matches within particular thresholds) for product description and illustration purposes, in articles, presentations or in advertising material. I do not use or request access to your raw DNA results. Sharing data I will not share your data with third parties. I will only share files which contain personal information, including the original data files and visualisations or reports created from them, with you (unless required by law). I use de-identified, anonymous visualisations or summary data for product description and illustration purposes, in articles, presentations or in advertising material. How I receive the data I receive data relating to DNA matches for a given person (or people) from you or download the information on your behalf. I never ask for passwords for any of your accounts. I do not offer downloads from testing companies that do not have a 'viewer' access arrangement. If you order a data download I will ask you to assign me viewer access to your AncestryDNA account. Viewer access does not allow me to make changes to your account, or to access your raw DNA data. With viewer access, I will be able to see your DNA matches and shared match relationships. You should be aware that I will see any personal notes that you have entered for each match. I will maintain viewer access only until your order is complete. You can revoke the viewer access at any time through settings on your AncestryDNA account. How I handle the data If you opt to provide me with the files, you will transfer them to me via a reputable cloud storage site. I will download the data to a password-protected personal computer for which I am the only user, and delete the data from cloud storage. I will return the finished reports to you via a reputable cloud storage site. I will delete the files from cloud storage as described under 'Retention of identified data'. While I will take reasonable security precautions, no means of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a data breach occurs that affects your data I will notify you. Retention of identified data I retain identified data until the service you ordered is complete plus a period of up to three months. Identified data includes the original data files and any reports or visualisation I create, as well as any working files, The three-month period allows me to respond to your requests for additional services, or to make any adjustments you request to the visualisations and reports. |
