Connected DNA is taking a breakNever fear, all is well. I'm just not taking new orders at present. |
A fresh view of DNA cousin matches
NEW INSIGHTS |
Get more from your shared match list
Have you done a genealogy DNA test? What if, instead of working through lists, you could see your DNA matches and their connections laid out in a picture?
|
iShared match lists are one of the most powerful tools in a genetic genealogist's toolkit. Yet few make the most of their potential.
With a picture of your matches to work from, groups of matches who may share a common ancestor start to become clear. As you work through each group, patterns emerge. Think you don't have many shared matches? You might be pleasantly surprised. Some connections are hidden in the depths of your match list - a network graph can draw them out. Prices start at $55 US. What you get With every graph purchase you will receive:
Important note: Connected DNA is not software or an automated tool, but a genealogy analysis service, working with data that you provide.

One profile, or several
So what can I do with your data files?
I can create a graph based on a single person's DNA matches, or a combined graph with data for several family members. If you only manage one DNA profile, choose a single profile graph. If you manage profiles for multiple family members you don't necessarily have to pick and choose between them. Combining match lists for family members into one graph can harness even more analytical power. I can combine files for:
If your siblings or other family members have also DNA tested, take a look at the options for multiple profile graphs. |
Enhanced information, ready to explore
Connected DNA provides more than just graphs. Every graph comes with a enhanced spreadsheet that combines the original data with match group and in-common-with count information.
This provides a base to explore your matches, investigate trees, and find the patterns that can lead you to new ancestor discoveries! |

About meMy name is Shelley Crawford. I've been researching my family history for almost 30 years and I love those 'Aha!' research moments! Since 2009 I've blogged about my family history at Twigs of Yore and connected with the genealogy community online.
The new world of DNA matches held so much promise but was difficult to navigate. When I realized that I could create network graphs of my DNA matches, new avenues of research opened up before me. I wanted to exchange ideas about network graphs with other genealogists, but no-one was talking about the technique. To share what I had learned, I posted a series of tutorials on how to create network charts on my personal blog. The response was positive and overwhelming. Yet not everyone has the time or inclination to create charts like these for themselves. This is where Connected DNA comes in. |
